2012/2/1 - China

The China Journey of 2012 started by myself, alone. I took the flight from Taoyuan -> Hongkong by myself, only took 1.5 hours to fly there, which was pretty fast. Also they upgraded my seat, so the breakfast in the plane was actually quite great, quite a good start of that very early morning.  From what I remember, I arrived at Hongkong around 7-8 am, very early. It's been a long time since last time I went to this airport, and also this time was alone... so I had some time to be alone and observe this airport, and  found out Hongkong airport is actually pretty good and also dont need to walk so much cause they got the airport subway. (Fast!) But unfortunately someone's visa didn't allow him to enter China more than "once", so I didn't have the chance to spend some days in Hongkong, to experience the noisy Cantonese lifestyle, which is a pity... but I guess it's ok!

I found the direct bus from the airport to guangzhou easily in the airport, paid $200 HKD for the ticket.  I didn't even spend time to wait for the bus, just quickly paid and got on the bus, guess I really worried too much about how to get there from Hongkong before the trip! I took the motion sickness medicine on the bus and of course slept quite well on the bus, until .... the bus entered China and we all changed seat.  I met a middle school sport teacher from guangzhou on the bus. (When he first sat down, I simply just thought "errgh, quite ugly guy, but guess it's ok, I must sleep now") But after he sat down, kept talking to me even though I was listening to Taylor swift on the phone. I think he was very talkative "too talkative", also was quite curious why I was alone. So I think I BSed quite much to him and thought even though he lives near where I'll go in Guangzhou, better dont let him show us around, otherwise the stupid BS will be caught. Also after BSing about I also use QQ to talk to friends, then immiedately regret, cuz I freaking dunno my QQ number at all when he asked, ohhh~~~ But I think Mainlanders really think Taiwanese also use QQ...are they dumb or they think QQ is too great for a messenger.

After arriving at 暨南大學, I looked at the map I saved on google before the trip in the cellphone and found out ... " WTF, the streets name and all that buildings name all are different from reality" But thanks to my strong sixth sense, I decided to turn right and kept walking, then turned right in the big cross road and luckily it was the right way to the hotel. I guess I was really too lucky that I didnt get lost. (But I also asked a few people for direction on my way, luckily they were kind of friendly than what I expected also didnt ask for money for it like dad said they will.)

OK, then I found the 7 days inn hotel that I planned to stay for the first day. But WTF, freaking spent 20 mins to make reservation online for the room. ( They said I must do it -.- ) And China's internet was super slow.... After I finally got my room card, I went in the room and the room was quite great for that price. ( Quite cheap)  Even though I was really sleepy, but my thirstiness and hunger won against my sleepiness. So I went out and tried to explore the area for a bit even though was afraid if sth will happen on me cause the place somehow looks a little dangerous. I bought the water in some convenience store and then walked around the area for more than freaking one hour but couldn't find anything that I think will be good.... Then bought some Korean food which was quite expensive but was super unpalatable!! So I threw it away after eating a little....it was seriously too awful. And due to the bad experience I had earlier, I decided to sleep a lot for the first day....I think I slept for at least 14 hours or more.  ( So there's not much to talk about after that XD I think I woke up in the middle of the night and chatted with some friends on the phone and also talked to someone with SMS, really regreted I came alone 1 day earlier at that day. )
